Patient Story: A Walking Miracle

Inspired by the graduation season and Alex’s incredible story, Tanya Minasian, DO, a neurosurgeon for Loma Linda University Children’s Health shared this timely story with me in May 2019. Together she helped connect me with Alex’s family to capture his journey for a news article. From there, I worked with the hospital's film team to create a YouTube testimonial. I also worked with the hospital's social media team to post content on the day of his graduation including a photo of him and Dr. Minasian. As this was a timely story, I also reached out to local LA news outlets to have them cover the graduation ceremony securing segments on KTLA and KCAL.

Multi-platform examples

In total, I was able to reimagine this story as an article, a patient testimonial, social posts, and generated over $90,000 in media ad value across four strategic media placements.

In collaboration with Loma Linda University Health’s video team, we created a YouTube highlight of Alexander Harris’s story.

As part of my process, I pitched this incredible story to several LA media outlets. Featured here is KTLA’s segment on the story which had a publicity value of over $30,000. Click for KTLA Web Story
